Finance Business Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Manager to join our team. Our company is a leading omnichannel content provider for women, with a portfolio of brands that includes some of Australia's most popular magazines and online platforms.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting, and be CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience. They will also have 5+ years experience in finance business partnering, and exceptional business partnering skills, with the ability to influence.

The role involves providing analysis and insights to support business decisions, delivering month-end, forecast, and budget results by performing a selection of processes and functions across a range of P&Ls. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

About the Role:

  • Develop and build relationships across the business to support senior business leaders in day-to-day management of the business.
  • Provide analytical and financial support to Senior Business Leaders / Financial Controller for finance processes / functions through insightful, strategic reporting.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of allocated finance functions for month end, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Delivering regular financial performance reports to senior management, providing clear insights.
  • Financial Modelling: Responsible for preparing and analysing financial modelling for budget/planning within the finance department and for related stakeholders.
  • Process improvement: Critically assess workflows and drive efficiencies/process improvements.
  • Staff management: Mentor, guide, and engage reporting team member(s) to help them achieve their own responsibilities, creating a high-performing team.
