About Us

We offer an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Clinician to join our team in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Forensic Services.

The Secure Care Program provides mental health assessment and intervention services, including cultural support to young people in custody. Our team aims to provide clinically and culturally responsive forensic assessment and intervention services to young people.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a high degree of responsibility, utilizing your expertise to support, orient, and educate other staff members.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing clinical expertise to children, adolescents, and families with mental health issues involved in the justice system. This includes addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, ensuring optimal consumer care through assessment, education, counseling, and group work.

Additionally, you will consult and liaise with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organizations, leading and participating in action research projects, quality improvement activities, and policy development within the practice setting.

Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other professionals and stakeholders
  • Extensive clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues in a youth justice setting
