The role of the Intake and Assessment Clinician is multifaceted, requiring a high degree of professionalism, empathy, and clinical expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing holistic care to consumers by fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, leveraging community organizations, and promoting collaborative partnerships.
- Conducting comprehensive triage and assessment of individuals accessing support through LikeMind, employing a biopsychosocial approach that addresses the complexities of mental health.
- Delivering short-term interventions and coordinating care to empower consumers in achieving their goals and objectives outlined in their care/management plan.
To excel in this position, candidates must possess:
- Approved tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, alongside full/provisional registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with the AASW.
- Significant experience in clinical practice within the mental health field, including placements and relevant volunteer work such as Lifeline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in providing triage and assessment, with a preference for assessing skills in a mental health setting.
- Capacity to provide evidence-based clinical practice, adhering to best practices and standards.
- Commitment to collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive bio-psycho-social approaches and interventions that cater to the diverse needs of consumers.
