Operations Manager Job Description

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing machine operators, volunteers and production schedules. You will manage equipment operation, coordinate workflow, and optimize inventory and output in a high-tech environment while supporting Australia's move toward a more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of operators and volunteers across daily production
  • Operate and maintain specialized textile sorting and processing equipment
  • Align production schedules with demand forecasts and inventory targets
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure software integration runs smoothly
  • Drive a safety-first, high-performance culture
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Operations leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting
  • Strong technical maintenance knowledge (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic)
  • Proven ability to lead people and drive process improvement
  • Confidence with IT systems and production software
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
