About The Role

This is a strategic leadership role that involves overseeing diverse portfolio areas including economic development, integrated strategic planning, place making, and environmental sustainability.

You will lead a team of professionals who provide advice to the executive team, CEO and councillors on how Council's Community and Council's plan comes to life.

This role will have real impact on Council's planning and services that aim to support positive economic and environmental strategy and outcomes for generations to come.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic advice to the executive team, CEO and councillors on economic development, integrated strategic planning, place making, and environmental sustainability;
  • Liaising with stakeholders to understand community needs and expectations;
  • Developing and implementing strategies and policies to achieve Council's goals and objectives;
  • Leading and managing a team of professionals to deliver customer-centric services, strategies and policies;
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation of strategies and policies.

Candidates for this role should possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in economic development, integrated strategic planning, place making, and environmental sustainability. They should also be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
