Light Years is expanding its Australian presence with a new restaurant in Perth, offering an evolved and grown-up version of its dining experience. The venue will feature laneway dining, private dining, and a stunning centralised bar for good-time vibes.

The Prep Chef plays a crucial role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients to the highest standard. This involves prepping and organising all menu items, maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes, and working closely with the kitchen team to support chefs in their roles.

Key responsibilities include adhering to hygiene and food safety standards, maintaining efficient and organised prep stations, and supporting colleagues in meeting service requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess solid communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate a positive attitude. A background in Asian ingredients is beneficial but not essential. Punctuality and reliability are also key for this role.

  • Maintain company standards of quality, presentation, and cleanliness during food prep and ingredient storage.

  • Work closely with the kitchen team, ensuring they have the right ingredients ready for the line during service, and assist with general kitchen duties when required.

  • Ensure all prep is done according to recipes and specifications to maintain consistency across all dishes.
