About The Role
The EDI Project Coordinator will play a key role in developing and driving initiatives, projects and programs that support the implementation of Murdoch University's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion sub-strategy.
Our vision is to create a culturally responsive and inclusive university environment where diverse cultures, worldviews, abilities, experiences, and identities thrive. We believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed and be valued for their unique perspectives and contributions.
As a member of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the university to foster a culture of inclusion and empowerment. Your expertise will help us to develop and implement strategies that promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and address systemic barriers that prevent underrepresented groups from achieving their full potential.
The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, experience in coordinating complex projects, and a proven track record of delivering results-oriented outcomes. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing projects that promote diversity, equity and inclusion
- Coordinating with community networks and advisory groups to enhance intercultural competence
- Analysing EDI data to set benchmarks, evaluate initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement
- Supporting EDI Advisory Groups by organising meetings, preparing agendas and delivering reports
- Fostering collaboration through a community of practice with stakeholders across the university
We are committed to creating a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusivity and respect for all individuals. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented and diverse communities.
Join our dynamic and talented team where diversity and innovation thrive. Our Bronze-tier status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index reflects our commitment to LGBTIQA+ inclusion, equity and creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. We strive to be the university of choice for First Nations peoples, honouring Indigenous knowledge. Sustainability is central to our community and guided by clear, confident leadership, we are working toward an ambitious future with goals of net zero emissions and zero waste by 2030.
Benefits include:
- Flexible work arrangements
- Cultural Load and allowance - providing up to $8,944 per year to First Nations employees who are contributing cultural knowledge and perspectives beyond the scope of their role
