Family Support Specialist

About the Role:

A Family Support Specialist works with at-risk children and young people, using assessments to develop and review client plans. The goal is to enhance parenting capacity, promote resilience and functioning, ensuring children's safety and reducing the risk of out-of-home care.

  • Manage a caseload of designated clients
  • Coordinate with other service providers
About You:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or another relevant discipline
  • 1 year of experience working with vulnerable young people and their families
  • Ability to identify and respond to risk
  • Embedded understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice
  • Knowledge of theoretical approaches when working with children and families, including strengths-based approach and attachment theory
  • Working With Children Check
  • Willingsness to undergo a National Criminal History Check
  • Full Australian drivers license
