Animal Management Professional Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Animal Management Officer to join our team. This role will provide subject matter expertise, operational advice, and support to the Animal Management team.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Animal Management within Local Government or State environments and possess experience leading a team, liaising with diverse groups, and knowledge of Animal Management legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement solutions in line with department strategy and plans.
- Provide subject matter advice to department leaders and stakeholders on complex investigations and work plans against regulations.
- Assist senior roles in managing escalated complaints related to service standards or staff conduct.
- Monitor and report on work progress to ensure timely delivery.
- Contribute to developing policy and processes related to Animal Management.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will demonstrate problem-solving skills, negotiation, and decision-making abilities. They will be proficient in conducting investigations and applying rules of evidence.
Essential Experience:
- Relevant qualification in Government Investigations/Animal Regulation or substantial professional experience in Animal Management.
- Well-developed planning and time management skills.
- Highly developed knowledge and deep understanding of Animal Management legislation.
- Demonstrated people leadership capability in a dynamic regulatory environment.
