This role is centered around developing and implementing effective community engagement strategies for flood-related initiatives.
- The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to facilitate public meetings, workshops, and consultations.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record in community engagement principles and practices, with experience in stakeholder management or public engagement roles.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement community engagement plans to achieve project goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and community members, providing clear and concise communication.
- Facilitate public meetings, workshops, and consultations to gather input and feedback.
- Prepare and distribute clear and concise communication materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align engagement plans with project goals.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement activities.
- Address community concerns and provide timely responses to inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures in all engagement efforts.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of community engagement principles and practices.
- Flood knowledge and experience as a community enjoyment advisor.
- Local council experience.
- Project coordination expertise.
- Previous experience in stakeholder management or public engagement roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations to various audiences.
- A collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and communities.
- Knowledge of flood management or infrastructure projects is desirable.
- Hourly rate of $60-$65 plus super.
- Opportunity to work in the Docklands area, close to public transport and amenities.
- Contribute to meaningful flood management initiatives within the public sector.

You may be required to work weekends/afterhours.
