Research Scientist Position

This is a unique opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team of researchers and scientists working on various projects related to sedimentary ancient DNA, palaeoecology, and environmental genomics.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist with expertise in the analysis of ancient DNA from Quaternary sediments, bioinformatic processing of DNA data, and publication in international peer-reviewed journals.

The selected candidate will work closely with our team to conduct interdisciplinary research using modern and ancient DNA, and contribute to fieldwork and sediment analysis. They will also have the opportunity to supervise students and participate in synthesizing project outcomes to inform sustainable fire management and biodiversity conservation.

To be successful, you must have a PhD degree or equivalent, demonstrated knowledge and experience in the analysis of ancient DNA, bioinformatics, and excellent communication skills.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced research in ancient DNA and palaeoecology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and students on various research projects.
  • Supervise undergraduate and PhD students.
  • Develop and implement novel methods for DNA analysis.
  • Communicate research findings through publications and presentations.
