We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at Westpac. As a key member of our Business Lending domain, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through automated testing.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify issues, and address quality concerns.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright to validate functionality, performance, and reliability of web applications.
- Set up and configure the Playwright testing framework, including integration with CI/CD pipelines and other testing tools.
- Collaborate with QA and development teams to understand requirements and create a test strategy that covers critical functionality and use cases.
- Design and implement test cases that thoroughly cover user stories, business requirements, and edge cases.
- Run automated tests on different environments, browsers, and devices to ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Analyse test results, identify and document defects, and provide detailed reports on test execution and outcomes.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and rapid feedback during the development cycle.
- Ensure that automated tests are updated and maintained in line with changes to the application and its requirements.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in Playwright and other relevant technologies to continuously improve testing practices.

Requirements- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in test automation.
- Strong experience in software quality assurance and test automation, with a strong focus on web applications.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, Playwright or similar test automation tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and browser behavior to effectively write and debug tests.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, and integration of automated tests into these pipelines.
- Strong analytical skills to design effective test cases and diagnose issues efficiently.
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to report findings clearly.
