The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing institutional and reputational risks across the university.

They will oversee the development and implementation of the university's risk management strategy, ensuring strong governance frameworks are in place to uphold academic integrity, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder trust.

This role requires a deep understanding of the operating context, legislative and regulatory frameworks, and strategic challenges facing universities.

The Director of Enterprise Risk Management will lead high-performing teams, fostering a positive and collaborative culture, and motivating staff to deliver strategic outcomes in risk, compliance, and business continuity.

They will develop and maintain effective relationships with senior executives, academic leaders, professional staff, internal audit, and external partners.

">Key Responsibilities:">

  • Lead the development and implementation of the university's risk management framework and policies.">
  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive on risk management and governance.">
  • Oversee the University's insurance program and business continuity planning.">
  • Develop and maintain a risk register and conduct regular risk assessments.">
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify organisational risk and develop mitigation strategies.">
">Required Skills and Qualifications:">

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and significant experience in risk management, preferably in a higher education setting.

They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and experience in risk management, governance, and business continuity.

They will be proficient in using risk management software and tools, such as Risk Matrix, and have experience in developing and implementing risk management plans.
