Our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of seniors who are lonely and wanting companionship. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting these individuals, helping to improve their quality of life.

As a companion, you will have the chance to build meaningful connections with seniors in aged care facilities or their own homes. Activities can include having coffee, going on outings, reading together, listening to music, playing games, etc. You'll have the opportunity to hear fascinating stories and gain insight from people who have a wealth of life experience.

Making a difference in someone's life can be incredibly rewarding. Research has consistently shown that people who give up their time to help others are generally happier and volunteering can have a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing. A study found that 93% of volunteers reported an increase in happiness, while 79% reported an improvement in their mental health.

Many seniors in our community are living in social isolation, which can lead to loneliness and depression. By volunteering your time and visiting with them, you will brighten their day and provide much-needed companionship.

We match volunteers with seniors who share similar interests, so you can connect over a shared love of books, movies, or hobbies. This approach ensures a enjoyable experience for both parties involved.

What We Offer:

What We Require:
  • A minimum of one hour per fortnight commitment.
  • A desire to spend time with seniors in your community.
  • A warm and friendly communication style and reliability.
  • A willingness to undergo a Criminal History Check (arranged by us).
