PhD Researcher: Waste Management in Northern Australia

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Charles Darwin University's Research Institute for Northern Agriculture. The successful candidate will work on a project focused on waste management in northern Australia, with a specific emphasis on tyres from machines and vehicles.
The project aims to develop novel approaches to manage this critical waste stream, enhancing understandings of past and current approaches for dealing with problematic waste streams. The researcher will have the opportunity to work with industry partners, including Tyre Stewardship Australia and one of Australia's largest pastoral companies.
About You- You have a strong academic background in science or social science, with a first-class Honours degree or a Masters degree containing a substantial research component.
- You are able to work independently and show a high level of initiative.
- You are willing to travel to remote areas of northern Australia and have an Australian (or equivalent) driving license.
- You will work closely with industry partners and have the opportunity to undertake an internship as part of your PhD.
- You will be located anywhere in Australia but will be required to travel and conduct fieldwork in remote areas of the Northern Territory.
- You will have access to Student Support Services and Wellbeing Support Program.
- You must be either an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen.
- You must have the capacity to work in remote Northern Territory locations.
