Health and Safety Professional Role Overview

Job Description

As a dedicated Health, Safety, and Wellbeing specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Department's commitment to providing a culture that prioritizes employee safety, health, and wellbeing. In collaboration with the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team, you will foster proactive practices informed by leadership support and individual contributions towards creating a safe and healthy work environment.

This role entails significant advisory support to Community Correction management teams, promoting and embedding a safety culture across the service while assisting in the implementation and review of the QCS Health Safety and Wellbeing framework.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Work Health and Safety Systems Expertise: Sound knowledge and proven experience in delivering WHS systems within complex community environments are essential. You will leverage this expertise to drive improved safety and wellbeing outcomes for Queensland Corrective Services.* Communication Influence: Effective communication with diverse stakeholders is crucial, demonstrating awareness of varying information needs and respecting differences while collaborating to achieve shared goals.* Relationship Building: Establishing strong connections, projecting a positive image, and working collaboratively as part of a team are key attributes required for success in this role.
