The primary focus of the Senior Platform Engineer position is to design, develop, and oversee the management of a robust, scalable, and efficient platform infrastructure. This role aims to transform our platform into a sophisticated product that enables engineering teams to independently access and utilize platform resources, minimizing dependencies and accelerating development timelines. You will have the opportunity to lead collaborative initiatives with delivery teams to enhance and maintain our cloud-based platforms, leveraging AWS Cloud services to improve the platform's capabilities while ensuring security, reliability, and efficiency.

This role requires a strong passion for automation and optimization, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop a scalable and resilient platform infrastructure that caters to the diverse needs of engineering teams. Automate platform management and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and minimize manual tasks. Utilize tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to manage infrastructure as code, ensuring consistency and repeatability. Spearhead containerization efforts using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes to streamline application deployment and management. Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions and optimize platform performance to guarantee reliability and peak performance.

Qualifications

Proficient in scripting and automation: Strong skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automating platform management and deployment. Expertise in Infrastructure as Code: Extensive experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for managing infrastructure through code. Mastery of Containerization: In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes). Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Solid background in implementing and utilizing monitoring tools and techniques to ensure platform reliability and performance. Collaboration and Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams and effectively convey technical concepts. Security Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of security standards and compliance requirements for cloud platforms.
