The Youth on Track initiative is a proactive program aimed at assisting 10–17-year-olds who are at risk of prolonged engagement with the criminal justice system. This program provides support to young individuals and their families through the application of evidence-based assessment tools, focused case management, and informed interventions to mitigate the root causes of delinquent behavior and fulfill their needs.

This role presents a distinctive chance to contribute to a program designed to intervene early and redirect youth away from the criminal justice system. You will provide comprehensive case management services to young people and their families, addressing criminogenic risks and needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intensive case management services to young individuals and their families.
  • Utilize the YLS/CMI-AA assessment to identify individuals and promote pro-social behaviors.
  • Implement a variety of evidence-based behavioral and family interventions to tackle risk factors.
  • Establish relationships grounded in trust and respect, emphasizing active listening and transparency.

Position Requirements

With substantial experience in the child, youth, and family sectors, as well as homelessness services, you will demonstrate confidence in your case management and assessment capabilities. Additional requirements include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in Youth Work, Case Management, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in intensive case management and engagement with young individuals.
  • Proven understanding of best practice criminogenic interventions related to behavioral and rehabilitative support.
  • Willingness to travel to provide outreach support to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Possession of a full driver’s license with no restrictions.

Prior to commencing employment, candidates will be required to undergo a national police history check, verification of qualifications and references, and obtain clearance to work with children and vulnerable individuals.

To ensure our employees feel appreciated, empowered, and recognized, we offer a variety of employee benefits, including:

  • Meaningful work – each day, you will know you are making a significant impact.
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging options, reducing your taxable income.
