Job Opportunity

The role of Cancer Program Coordinator plays a vital part in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities throughout their cancer journey.

This includes developing and maintaining effective referral pathways, mapping key stakeholders, and collaborating closely with both medical and non-medical professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients and their loved ones.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing culturally sensitive, practical day-to-day assistance to help navigate the health and community support systems
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring effective collaboration
  • Collaborating with medical and non-medical professionals to deliver wrap-around support for clients and their families

Congress offers a comprehensive primary healthcare service to Aboriginal people in Alice Springs and nearby remote communities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly in relation to cancer care
  • Experience working in community health, cancer services, or a related health or social service environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop a team
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and establishing cross-sector partnerships
