Medical Trainee Opportunities in Remote Australia

The Alice Springs Hospital is seeking basic trainees for positions in various departments, including General Medicine, Nephrology, Alcohol and other Drugs, Cancer Services, Palliative Care, Cardiology, and ICU.
As a basic trainee at the hospital, you will have the opportunity to complete two years of training in a unique and challenging environment. The medicine practiced here is distinct from other parts of Australia, with around 75% of patients being Indigenous individuals from remote communities.
The Department of Medicine staff consists of General Physicians and Specialists, including:
- Cardiology
- Endocrinology
- Oncology
- Infectious diseases
- Respiratory
- Palliative care
- Alcohol and other drugs
- Nephrology
- Rehabilitation
Alice Springs is a multicultural community with well-established amenities and outdoor adventure opportunities. As a trainee, you will have access to four General Medical teams, a busy Outpatient Department, and outreach clinics to remote areas.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be AHPRA-registered and eligible for training positions. We encourage applicants from other training streams, such as ACCRM, GP, and critical care, who are interested in rural general medicine or Indigenous health.
This position requires PGY 3+ experience and offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in a diverse and rewarding environment.
