About the Position

We are seeking a skilled leader to oversee daily operations in our laboratory.

  • Manage day-to-day activities
  • Monthly financial planning and billing
  • Maintain consumable stock levels
  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations
  • Conduct QHSE training and meetings as required
  • Coordinate and manage workflow to meet customer expectations
  • Plan, write, and deliver training programs for employees, trainees, and lower technical staff
  • Perform and supervise routine test work within set guidelines and priorities
  • Be the main liaison with existing clients to ensure client expectations are met
  • Supervise and lead a team
  • Maintain and update work schedules
  • Support and drive the team to achieve daily production targets
  • Support and assist in on-the-job training of team members
  • Assist in reviewing processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • Assist with non-conformance processing and root cause analysis
  • Perform internal audits

Requirements

  • Depth of knowledge in ISO 17025
  • Good working knowledge of laboratory procedures and sampling techniques
  • Understanding and implementation of quality control/assurance procedures
  • Understanding and implementation of occupational, health, safety, and environmental principles and procedures
  • Ability to manage a large number of staff in the daily operation of a laboratory environment
  • Proactively managing staff in a hands-on manner
  • Demonstrated ability to organize structured competency-based training programs
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work according to manager's general work priority guidelines
  • Ability to motivate others to achieve desired outcomes
