Primary Care Professional Role

The delivery of primary care is a critical aspect of our services at the correctional centre. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centred care to inmates.

The health services at the centre are designed to promote rehabilitation and reintegration, ensure safety and security, and foster a high standard of practice. You will work closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated healthcare solutions.

  • Promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates through effective healthcare interventions.
  • Ensure the safety and security of inmates by implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Foster a high standard of practice to facilitate safe healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant health authority.
  • A minimum of 2 years full-time post-graduate experience or part-time equivalent in primary health, rural health, or emergency nursing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering high-quality patient-centred care in complex environments.
