Information Technology Office

The Information Technology Office plays a crucial role in ensuring the national provision of technology solutions that enable Learning & Teaching, Research, and Administration across the University.

The office embeds an operating model that enables greater engagement across the University, proactively serving as trusted advisors in identifying and prioritizing continuous improvement initiatives and delivering digital technology change while ensuring the ongoing availability of the IT environment.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to develop digital solutions for prioritized initiatives within the context of the overall Architecture frameworks.

This role acts as an important link between IT teams, ensuring that solutions meet business and user requirements while aligning with the overall IT architecture and security frameworks.

The successful candidate will champion quality throughout the lifecycle of the solution from idea to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, Develop, and Design Business Improvement Solutions: Identify opportunities and options for improving investment planning and delivery processes, developing proposals to address high-priority issues.
  • Maintain and Ensure Alignment with the Architecture Framework: Contribute to maintaining and ensuring alignment with the Architecture framework and roadmaps.
  • Provide High-Level Input and Assist with Implementation: Provide high-level input to and assist with the effective implementation of a comprehensive architecture plan addressing all elements of the architectural framework.
  • Maintain Digital Capability Knowledge Base: Maintain the digital capability knowledge base and identify and create valuable information sources required for solution, security, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with IT Teams: Assist internal IT teams in preparing and evaluating tenders for solutions and provide technical advice for the procurement of associated items.
  • Establish Strategic Working Relationships: Establish, nurture, and maintain strategic working relationships with University stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Relevant Postgraduate Qualifications: Relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education or training.
  • Extensive Solution Architecture Experience: Extensive experience in Solution Architecture experience (Data/Integration Architecture, Technology Architecture, Security Architecture).
  • Cloud and On-Site Deployment Experience: Developed understanding of Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS), and on-site deployment and integration architectures (API, messaging, iPaaS).
  • Agile Project Experience: Demonstrated application of solution architecture into Agile projects and modern practices such as DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Architecture Frameworks: Extensive knowledge of the Architecture Frameworks e.g., TOGAF.

$126,515 - $134,018 per annum (HEW Level 9) + superannuation
