Job Opportunity:

This is a unique chance for an experienced risk and compliance expert to lead the operational risk and compliance function of a fund.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement risk and compliance frameworks and strategies;
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, legal professionals, and other external stakeholders to drive positive change outcomes;
  • Accountable for end-to-end management of relevant risk and compliance strategies, policies, and procedures;
  • Mentor team members and develop performance plans for continuous professional development;
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and main point of contact for all regulatory and compliance matters;
  • Lead the team through an enterprise-wide uplift and GRC implementation;
  • Promote a strong culture of risk awareness across the organisation, collaborating with leaders to embed risk management in business processes;
  • Partner with senior leadership and liaise with the board;
  • Offer advice and guidance to the team regarding risk and compliance to help develop an effective compliance culture;
  • Excellent ability to build rapport and partner with internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary education, preferably with specialisation in finance, business, project management, risk and compliance management or law;
  • Professional certification from relevant institutes highly regarded;
  • A deep background in superannuation or financial services is essential;
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and strong influencing capabilities to drive outcomes and change initiatives;
  • Strong project management skills and experience in delivering outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives preferred;
  • Resolution to address challenging issues and promote a solutions-focused approach to risk management;
  • 5+ years of previous experience in a Head of Risk and Compliance or Chief Risk Officer role is required;
  • Comfortable advising senior executives and presenting to the board on strategic decisions.
