Our organization operates a range of clinics and provides a range of primary health care and other services which include main clinic (acute and general care), Gudbinji Chronic Disease Clinic, Binjari Health Centre, Women and Children's Health and Men's Health.
About the Role
The role of an Aboriginal Health Practitioner at Northern Territory PHN encompasses delivering safe, high-quality clinical services, patient care, health promotion and education as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Clinical service may include, but are not limited to:
- Health Screening
- Providing treatment in accordance with CARPA protocols
- Assist clients to make informed decision about their health management
- Contribute to patient care plans
- Administering Immunisations
- Eye Health Care
- Ear Health Care
- Diabetes Health care
- Oral Health Care
- Sexual Health
What You Will Gain

As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will use the Communicare patient information system to identify care needs and document patient consultation in patient's medical file and bring to the organisation a high level of cultural authority which assists Doctors and other health professionals with communication, treatment and any advice relevant to a client's treatment.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a salary range of $67,731-$84,822 + Super. The position also includes an ordinary working week of 37.5 hours; Monday to Friday, with salary sacrifice arrangements available. Relocation assistance is available for eligible applicants, as well as short term assistance with accommodation for eligible applicants. You will receive six weeks annual leave plus leave loading per annum, one week paid special leave per annum and 15 days personal leave per annum.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be fully registered as ATSI Primary Health Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. You will also need to hold a Current National Police Certificate, a Current Northern Territory Driver's Licence and a Current Working with Children's Clearance.
