About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Urban Planner to join our team at Geoscience Ireland. As a Principal Urban Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our organization and contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable urban planning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of urban planners in the VIC market, providing strategic guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality planning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, councils, consultants, and other government agencies, identifying and fostering new opportunities and relationships within key sectors.
  • Deliver planning analysis and research, providing commercially astute insights to drive exceptional results and represent clients at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative and policy changes within the planning realm, ensuring our team's expertise and knowledge are current and relevant.
  • Mentor and lead junior staff, promoting the growth and development of the team and contributing to the overall success of Geoscience Ireland.

Requirements

  • A degree in town planning or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in a consulting business, with direct experience in town planning, property, or development.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and grow client relationships.
  • A thorough understanding of project budgets and deliverables, with excellent client service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take the initiative and be proactive in the workplace.
