About the Role

The Grants Manager will support FUTURE YOU to deliver its services and programs nationally, including identifying and submitting grant applications for funding through the Strategic Grants GEMS Portal. The role also involves assisting in identifying prospective relationships and partnerships, and pursuing funding avenues across corporates, foundations, charitable trusts, PAFS, and major donor/philanthropy channels aligned with our charitable objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Management: End-to-end management of grants, including prospect research, pipeline establishment, and management through Salesforce and Asana.
  • Grant Applications: Delivering effective grant applications to drive new revenue growth.
  • Relationship Management: Maintaining and developing current funders through effective acquittals and progress updates.
  • Reporting: Reporting on the national grants function to senior leadership for board discussions.
Core Accountabilities
  • Ownership of a pipeline for new and existing grant opportunities from public and private organisations, government funders, foundations/trusts, and individuals aligned with our strategic priorities.
  • Working alongside Chief Support, Services, and Impact to understand organisational funding needs and strategically guide grant proposal development and new program funding.
  • Establishing and configuring a corporate donation/contribution dashboard in Salesforce for ease of tracking and reporting.
  • Executing grant applications worth $5K+ on behalf of FUTURE YOU.
  • Writing and preparing high-quality funding applications and submissions aligned with strategic priorities and ensuring compliance.
  • Identifying, developing, and maintaining grants/funding pipeline through the GEMS portal, Salesforce, and Asana (existing relationships and new prospects).
  • Identifying untied funding opportunities with major donors, charitable foundations, and trusts to support future reserves and organisational growth.
  • Managing the grant process from start to finish, including prospecting, application, proposal, and acquittal processes.
  • Providing ad-hoc support and training to other teams around writing and submitting community grants, CRM management, and data cleansing.
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of our work and external market environment, staying updated on current fundraising practices, and informing stakeholders of relevant items.

Essential Experience
  • Experience in a fundraising or development role in a not-for-profit, social impact, or community services environment.
  • A proven track record of achieving revenue targets in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success in researching, investigating, preparing, and acquitting grant applications with ambitious revenue targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated by successful proposals/grant applications being accepted by a major partner or donor.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships, achieve targets within set timeframes, and limited resources.
