Job Overview

Lead a high-performing team in providing support and advice to the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme branch.

  • Oversee a diverse, multidisciplinary team that assesses FAS applications and provides victim recognition engagement.
  • Deliver an inclusive, trauma-informed, and victim-focused service.

As a strategic leader, you will manage daily operations, allocate resources, communicate with staff and stakeholders, complete reports, and audit outputs.

The role involves leading and managing a team of senior assessors, assessors, and recognition support officers, supporting them to deliver quality services and meet service targets and functional responsibilities.

You will be responsible for being the point of escalation and provision of advice on applications, considering and determining complex applications as per established policy, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Manage a team that assesses financial assistance applications and provides victim recognition statements.
  • Coordinate victim recognition meetings and lead a team of senior assessors, assessors, and recognition support officers.
  • Support staff to deliver quality services and meet service targets and functional responsibilities.

  • A strong ability in diplomacy and judgment to provide accurate, clear, and comprehensive decisions within defined time frames.

Qualifications/Requirements

The following qualifications are essential:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services, and/or family violence.
