Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and management of the nursing team, ensuring safe and quality care that meets current best practice standards.
They will work closely with Visiting Medical Officers, Hospital Executive, and Nurse Unit Managers of wards and departments to support and liaise on various matters.
Key responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring all areas are adequately staffed and cost-efficiently managed, overseeing patient and staff safety, and providing overarching management to the hospital after hours.
Required Skills and Qualifications- At least 5 years of experience in Registered Nursing Mental Health in an acute setting
- Recent inpatient mental health management experience at ANUM level or higher
- Demonstrated expertise in coordinating and allocating staff
- High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong people leadership skills, including mentorship and coaching of team members
- Ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios
- Post Graduate Qualification in a mental health-related discipline or management (desired)
- Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desired)
