Executive Director Position

Job Title: Executive Director - Enterprise Project Management Office

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to head its Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO). This is a rare executive opportunity to drive enterprise-wide initiatives and deliver major projects that support the democratic process in Victoria.

About the Role:

As an Executive Director, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and lead a high-performing team responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and delivery of the organisation's major project portfolio. You'll work closely with senior executives and stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with strategic objectives, operational cycles, and community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading strategic planning, prioritisation, and execution of major projects.
  • Overseeing project governance frameworks, change management, and benefit realisation.
  • Providing high-level advice to executive leadership and governance committees.
  • Building project management capability across the organisation.
  • Driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

About You:

You are a seasoned executive with extensive experience leading enterprise-level PMOs in complex, high-stakes environments. Accreditation in Project Management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) and change management is also required. Strong strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities are essential for this role. A track record of delivering multi-year, high-impact programs with measurable results is highly valued.
