Establish a high-volume payment function for the Financial Assistance Scheme, and ensure efficient resolution of issues to enable timely payments to victims of crime.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a major initiative supporting victims of crime. The scheme represents a landmark reform that prioritizes victim needs and supports their recovery from violent crime.

The scheme will provide financial assistance through a simple process that is fair, sensitive, and responsive to victims' needs. It will acknowledge harm done and be trauma-informed, with a focus on being inclusive and culturally safe.

You will be responsible for leading a small team to coordinate and approve financial assistance payments, including quality assurance, continuous improvement, auditing, and reporting for the scheme. This may involve occasional contact with victims of crime.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading finance, payment, and business support functions in a high-volume processing environment.

Qualifications:

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline, such as finance, business, or public sector administration, and experience overseeing operations in a service sector environment is desired.
