Family Contact Worker Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our organization as a Family Contact Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people, working collaboratively with families, carers, and communities.

As a Family Contact Worker, you will be responsible for monitoring family visits between children and their families, ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved. You will also have the opportunity to provide youth work, transportation, or mentoring to children, making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and facilitate contact between the child or young person and the family member.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the child or young person and those participating in the visit.
  • Establish rapport with children and young people through mentoring or youth work.
  • Provide transportation up-to 4 hours.
  • Complete report writing after each contact with a child or young person.

Requirements:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) or actively working towards obtaining it within specified timeframes.
  • An unrestricted and current Driver's License.
  • Your own fully insured vehicle, child lock system, and back seat capacity.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and Outlook.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people.
