About the Role

The Major Developments Planning Manager is responsible for planning the provision of services to support the responsible expansion of Unitywater's water and sewerage networks to meet population growth. This includes establishing necessary infrastructure agreements to ensure equitable assignment of cost and responsibility for delivery of necessary infrastructure.

This leadership role requires engagement of stakeholders to deliver outcomes. As a leader working across the business, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Managers to develop, implement, and manage internal and external stakeholders in relation to strategic planning and asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan for the provision of services to support population growth, including the establishment of infrastructure agreements.
  • Lead a small team to develop, implement, and manage internal and external stakeholders in relation to strategic planning and asset reliability.
  • Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Managers to deliver outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure engagement of stakeholders.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of water infrastructure agreements to mitigate financial risk.
  • Work with the Planning and Engineering teams to deliver Concept and Detailed Business Cases to support investment in projects.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree with significant experience within a utilities or an infrastructure environment, and a focus on asset planning.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure planning, demand forecasting, and water industry regulatory environment.
  • Previous experience leading a team is preferable, and the ability to identify where technical, social, or commercial processes need improvement and implement what is required to ensure outcomes are delivered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with experience in liaising and consulting at Board and Executive level, and with Developers and other internal and external stakeholders.
