About the Role:
As the Infrastructure Approvals and Planning Lead, you will play a critical role in providing commercial, economic, and strategic advice to facilitate the delivery of water infrastructure agreements, policy, and business planning for major developments in our region. Your expertise will help ensure that we deliver high-quality services to our customers while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and influence the negotiation of water infrastructure agreements to mitigate financial risk and ensure timely progression of planned development.
- Manage the development and delivery of board papers and required documentation, advising on risks arising from development of land outside the current Unitywater Future Connections Area.
- Contribute to the engineering and planning of required infrastructure, ensuring alignment with industry and Unitywater standards.
- Develop and contribute to business cases that underpin project investment, including financial modeling and risk assessment.
- Assess and prepare submissions for future and existing planning schemes in respect of proposed or planned development, supporting the processing of connection applications.
- Liaise with developers and provide responses and reports to state regulators, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of development management for large-scale infrastructure projects, as well as experience in the water industry regulatory environment. Your ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes will be essential in ensuring successful outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills, including consultancy and negotiation, are also critical in this role, as you will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
