About the Role:
Victoria Legal Aid Chambers is seeking an experienced advocate to provide high-quality advocacy in all criminal law jurisdictions across Victoria.
This senior position involves appearing as counsel in complex criminal and quasi-criminal law matters in various courts and tribunals across Victoria, providing expert legal advice on criminal matters and law reform issues, and contributing to quality legal service delivery in Melbourne and regional areas.
- You will be an accomplished trial and/or appellate advocate with significant knowledge and experience in complex criminal law.
- You will consistently deliver high-quality oral and written advocacy and provide high-level advice on legal and policy issues.
- You will demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive learning environment in your mentoring and training of criminal advocates and lawyers.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience, skills, and ability as a criminal law barrister or advocate.
- Detailed knowledge, understanding, and experience in State and Federal indictable criminal law and the laws of evidence and criminal procedure.
