About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team at the George Fisher Mine in Mount Isa, Queensland. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and completing breakdown repairs on mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance tasks on mobile equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns on mobile equipment
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement opportunities and promote site safety standards
  • Deliver personnel and equipment to job sites and return surplus equipment to stores
  • Assist in achieving budgeted development and production KPIs by performing varied tasks
  • Mentor apprentices and contribute positively to the team environment
Requirements
  • Trade qualification – Motor Mechanic
  • Hold a current manual driver's license
  • Holding a current Refrigeration Handling Licence is highly regarded
  • Experience in repairing mobile equipment
  • Positive attitude and high safety standards
  • Mining or heavy industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Holding High risk work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space, forklift licence, MR or HR licence
  • Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
  • Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes
  • Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system
  • Experience in Excel would be an advantage
