The Role

This Risk Analyst position will be based at International Towers on the harbour foreshore of Barangaroo. The role is offered on a hybrid working pattern.

You will join a busy and dynamic team providing insights into commodities and trading positions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Daily risk reporting, including position reporting, mark-to-market, and Value-at-Risk analysis.
  • Supporting the Risk Reporting Team to produce daily and weekly risk reports across the business.
  • Analyzing commodity market trends and financial market movements.
  • Maintaining commodity market analysis and trading position data on a daily basis.
  • Assisting with analysis for the Risk Assessment Unit.
  • Developing and maintaining weekly reporting for the Management Risk Committee (MRC).
  • Providing quarterly MRC and Audit Risk Committee (ARC) reporting, along with research material and analysis.
  • Maintaining scenario modeling and stress testing of commodity and trading positions.
  • Ensuring compliance with Treasury policies and procedures.

About Your Experience

We seek a candidate with a tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a relevant field. Strong experience in corporate finance and financial accounting is required.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Quantitative risk analysis models (Value at Risk, scenario models, sensitivity analysis, statistical probabilities).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to transpose quantitative thinking to practical applications.
  • Experience with risk analysis software and data libraries.
  • Commodity market knowledge.
  • Familiarity with risk management theories and measures.
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data using APIs and build efficient databases.
