Regional Educator Development Opportunity

The Regional Educator Development Opportunity is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and expertise of recent graduates or Initial Teacher Education (ITE) students.

  • Key Objectives:
  • To provide recent graduates or ITE students with opportunities for professional growth and development in regional schools.
  • To attract and retain high-quality educators in regional areas, improving educational outcomes for students.

To be eligible, applicants must have completed their initial teacher education studies at a Western Australian university within the last 6 months; or be in their final semester of study towards an initial teacher education qualification at a WA university.

Applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This opportunity is not an employment pool. Applicants must submit their written application before the closing date for each intake, which will be assessed by a selection panel.

The selected candidates will participate in a comprehensive induction program, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to succeed in their role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed initial teacher education studies at a Western Australian university within the last 6 months;

  • Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and learning;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Aptitude for working in a collaborative environment;
