Operations Team Lead: Inventory and Supply Chain Specialist

This is a permanent full-time position in South Brisbane with local travel throughout Mater hospitals required at times.

About the Role

As a centralised team member, you will be part of a collaborative and customer-focused team, adopting a business partnering approach to improve inventory management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure optimal levels and placement of Mater Operating Theatres inventory.
  • Manage performance and development of the inventory control team.
  • Identify and address supply chain inefficiencies in Critical Care areas.
  • Lead projects such as warehouse relocations and inventory level reviews.
  • Supervise operational workflow and communicate performance expectations.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement changes for greater efficiency.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service in Operating Theatres.
  • Support team development through coaching and performance reviews.
About You

We are seeking an experienced and driven individual who possesses:

  • A Diploma in Purchasing or Inventory Management (desired).
  • Experience in leading teams in large organisations.
  • A proven ability to lead change and manage purchasing operations.
  • Strong data and reporting skills in a purchasing context.
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP platforms or purchasing and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and online collaboration tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Initiative, proactive communication, and collaborative leadership abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace health, safety, and continuous improvement efforts.
