Environmental Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Safety & Assurance Team, you will play a crucial role in driving environmental performance and sustainability across our operations.
Job Overview:
You will work collaboratively with our Environment and Sustainability Manager, staff, contractors, and stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and embed sustainability practices in daily operations. Your primary focus will be on delivering targeted initiatives and management systems to improve environmental performance, drive sustainable practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and client expectations.
The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, and have proven experience in environmental and sustainability roles. You will also have experience working in the Australian public transport sector, collaborating with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve quality management systems related to environmental performance, including ISO14001.
- Monitor, assess, and improve environmental performance, identifying and managing environmental risks.
- Analyse complex environmental data and contribute to the development of practical environmental strategies, policies, and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Safety & Assurance Team and the broader business.

As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be proactive and results-driven, with a focus on practical outcomes and sustainability improvements. You will have strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop effective partnerships with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams.
