Positive Behaviour Support Specialist

This role involves reviewing Positive Behaviour Support plans, providing training and support to staff, and participating in research to build the evidence base for our practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans to ensure they are effective and up-to-date.
  • Providing expert training and guidance to staff on implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies.
  • Collaborating with researchers to contribute to the development of evidence-based practices in Positive Behaviour Support.
Requirements:
  • PhD or Doctorate in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Special Education). A background in Behavioural Interventions for individuals with Autism Spectrum disorder, Intellectual Disability, or other complex diagnoses is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in understanding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its application in disability support services.
  • Proven track record in providing Positive Behaviour Support or similar services within the disability, education, or justice sectors.
  • A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
  • A National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance. Alternatively, willingness to obtain these clearances prior to commencement.
