The Australian Football League (AFL) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Competition Lead - Big Rivers Football League.

This position is responsible for the management and administration of the Big Rivers Football League, including senior, youth, and junior competitions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Football Competitions Manager - NT to ensure the smooth operation of the BRFL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and management of BRFL match day operations
  • Ensure competition administration aligns with National Policies, AFLNT Rules & Regulations, and BRFL By-Laws
  • Manage relationships between AFLNT, League, and Club presidents, and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinate match staff duties and rostering
  • Support the Football Competitions Manager - NT with other projects as required
  • Assist the media department with media releases related to the league
  • Compile data and information for competition reporting
  • Work closely with Game Development and Remote teams to ensure a sustainable future for all competitions, clubs, and communities in the Big Rivers region

Requirements:

  • Highly competent administration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with volunteers, volunteer boards, and committees
  • Demonstrated organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to remain effective when faced with changing tasks, responsibilities, or people
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively unsupervised
  • Well-developed interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Satisfactory Working with Children Check
  • NT Driver's Licence
