International Development Lead for HIV Programmes in the Pacific

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Development Lead to join our team at Health Equity Matters. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our work under the Indo-Pacific HIV Partnership program in PNG and Fiji.

About the Role

Reporting to the Principal Director of International Programs, you will be responsible for leading HEM's work in PNG and Fiji, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes are undertaken, financial oversight is provided, and commitments to facilitating gender, disability and social inclusion are met.

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve programme goals and objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including program partners, donors, and government agencies
  • Manage partnership program consultants and partner contracts
  • Identify and support business development opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with program partners to ensure their voice, perspectives, and priorities are integrated into programme design and implementation
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with other donors in Fiji and PNG
  • Oversee the coordination of programme activities, including monitoring and evaluation, financial management, and reporting

Requirements

  • Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as international development, public health, or a related field
  • Proven experience in programme management, donor relations, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong understanding of HIV programming, particularly in the context of global health
  • Experience working with key populations, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex communities, people living with HIV, sex workers, people who use drugs, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
