Overview

The International Finance Corporation is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its financial sector development efforts in the East Asia and Pacific region. As a Global Financial Sector Development Lead, you will be responsible for driving the corporation's strategy to promote financial stability, deepen financial markets, and increase access to finance for underserved populations.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Job Description:

  • Act as a technical lead on financial markets, sustainable finance, and financial inclusion for EAP, providing expertise to support the development of diagnostics and strategies to remove market barriers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IFC Industry teams and World Bank Global Practices, to assess financial markets barriers and opportunities, lead dialogue with domestic and international stakeholders, and identify/develop tailored solutions.
  • Develop and implement major projects to address financial market barriers and risks, working closely with CEAAE advisory projects teams, client countries, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead collaboration with FIG on the development of sustainable finance instruments and frameworks, including thematic bonds and loans.
  • Manage the implementation of the advisory project portfolio in the financial sector, overseeing CEAAE teams throughout the cycle of projects led by the Unit or developed in coordination with FIG.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience in financial sector development, economics, public policy, international development, or related field.
  • Solid technical skills in at least two of the financial sector development areas, i.e., financial inclusion, financial stability, payment systems, capital market development, climate and risk management, and sustainable finance.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, design, and implement major projects both within the WBG and outside.
  • Substantial and diverse experience in leading operations and client dialogue in IBRD or IDA countries.
