Trade Marks Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled trade marks specialist to join our market leading IP team based in Melbourne or Sydney. As a trade marks lawyer, you will work with some of Australia's biggest brands, advising on all areas of trademark portfolio management to help protect their valuable brands and associated rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Australian and international trademark filing and prosecution
  • Strategic trade mark portfolio advice
  • Rebranding and clearance advice
  • Drafting and negotiating consents and co-existence agreements
  • Advising on intellectual property aspects of due diligence
  • Providing support on trademark and domain name disputes

Requirements:

  • Admitted Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand
  • 1+ years of experience in trademark prosecution
  • Strong academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset
  • Proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive IP team
  • Ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team
