Overview

Solicitor, Trade Marks role at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer. Our IP team is seeking a trademark specialist to join our team based in Melbourne or Sydney.

HSF Kramer\'s market leading IP team works with some of Australia\'s biggest brands, and we are looking for an enthusiastic lawyer to support clients in all things brand related.

Responsibilities
  • Australian and international trademark filing and prosecution;
  • Rebranding and clearance advice;
  • Drafting and negotiating consents and co-existence agreements;
  • Advising on intellectual property aspects of due diligence; and
  • Providing support on trademark and domain name disputes.
Qualifications
  • Admitted Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand.
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience in trademark prosecution;
  • Strong academic record with solid legal skills and a practical mindset;
  • Proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of a leading IP team;
  • Ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team.

Our IP team is a tight-knit group with extensive experience, collaborating closely for over a decade. Our trade mark specialists advise clients on all areas of trademark portfolio management to protect brands and rights, including managing Australian and global portfolios and supporting licensing and other commercial agreements.
