Senior Bulk Earthworks Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Construction and Engineering team to manage and deliver bulk earthworks construction projects in a mining environment.

The role is responsible for providing project management expertise through scoping, planning, execution, leadership, and construction management with the support of other departments within the business.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and experienced, with the ability to manage projects from inception to completion, and lead the construction team to deliver successful outcomes.

The Project Manager will report to the General Manager.

This will be a FIFO role on a 2:1 Roster in the Pilbara region.

• Ensure projects are executed safely and adhere to HSEQ policies.
• Drive and lead the delivery of construction projects through construction planning/management, project controls, and financial/commercial management.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Liaise with key site personnel, both internal and external, to ensure all labour, materials, and equipment are allocated and implemented for the effective delivery of the project.
• Ensure deliverables are compliant with the project specifications, budget and schedule.
• Manage subcontract procurement including negotiation and conforming to subcontracts.
• Ensure appropriate appointment of labour and resources in all areas during the project. This includes selecting and recruiting suitable candidates.
• Prepare, track, and report monthly performance including financial, program, and QSET. Analyse and provide justification for any variances.
• Review the financial performance of the project and provide innovative solutions to reduce costs or add value.
• Review the monthly cost reports and ensure all direct project costs are correctly allocated/coded.
• Ensure progress claims including variations are completed accurately within the required timeframes. This includes facilitating timely approval and certification of claims.
• Oversee contract management including identification of all commercial claims and entitlements, ensuring they are sought in the best interests of the company.
• Manage the procurement and maintenance of all site plant resources, including hired plant and equipment, following business procedures.
• Promote a strong commitment to our Zero Harm culture and high standard of work.
• Provide support to the bidding team for business development.

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Previous experience in a similar role or sufficient experience with bulk earthworks and road infrastructure works is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders and clients is required.
• Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management is necessary.
• Ability to lead a team, influence key stakeholders, and maintain strong relationships is required.
• Ability to solve complex problems using logical rationale is essential.
• Deadline-oriented and able to balance competing priorities, whilst working well under pressure is necessary.
• Willingness/ability to work in remote locations as may be required.
• Hold a current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A.
