About this role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Sydney Private Business Tax and advisory Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering precise and compliant financial statements for our esteemed clients.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in auditing and preparing GPFS and SPFS, with a strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and the Corporations Act. You will be responsible for providing accounting support to our PBTA team and clients, as well as assisting our National Technical Accounting Head/Lead - PBTA in performing technical accounting research.

You will also ensure that financial statements meet regulatory requirements and best practice, and collaborate with our PBTA team and clients for annual GPFS preparation. If you have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, CA/CPA certification, and at least 2 years of experience in auditing and preparing GPFS and SPFS, we encourage you to apply.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing accounting support to PBTA team and clients in applying specific accounting standards.
  • Assist National Technical Accounting Head/Lead - PBTA in performing technical accounting research.
  • Ensure financial statements meet regulatory requirements and best practice.
  • Resource for PBTA team members seeking guidance on accounting matters.
  • Compile GPFS and SPFS.
  • Ability to apply Australian Accounting Standards applicable to clients' businesses and industries in which clients operate.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and the Corporations Act.
  • Collaborate with the PBTA team and clients for annual GPFS preparation including planning, and identification and addressing of accounting issues.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • CA/CPA preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in auditing and preparing GPFS and SPFS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and the Corporations Act.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing regulations and accounting standards.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation software (e.g., Acurri).
