Data Governance Specialist
We are seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Data Governance Specialist and help establish formal data management and governance functions in accordance with industry best practices.
- Review existing governance arrangements and develop an oversight structure and a data governance framework.
- Develop policies and procedures for data management to support the framework, including data retention and disposal, cataloguing data, data quality management, and releasing data.
- Identify opportunities and risks and recommend actions to manage and mitigate.
- Define roles and responsibilities.
- Gather and document stakeholder requirements, review existing Business Intelligence products, and recommend development of a pipeline/program of work.
- Design and document a regime of governance, discovery, preparation, planning, building, publishing, and implementing for every new data project.
- Enhance understanding of the Business Analysis process through delivery of training.
The ideal candidate will have a rigorous but light-touch governance approach, suitable for our organisation and flexible enough for our dynamic team. We are looking for someone who can develop any other relevant artefacts to support effective data management.
