Job Title: Electronics Maintenance Technician

About the Role:

The electronics maintenance technician will report to a manager and be part of a team responsible for maintaining electronic equipment in support of communication systems.

The successful candidate will be required to follow instructions to inspect, diagnose, repair and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, ensuring all appropriate technical and safety standards are completed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions to check, inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electronic equipment using test equipment and proper techniques.
  • Perform quality checks, diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures to quickly identify the cause(s) of issues and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by keeping workstations neat; complying with company policies.
  • Participate in safety briefings, complete required safety training, comply with safety procedures (e.g., equipment use and electrical hazards).
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information with others, contributing to regular team meetings and staying apprised of the status of others' work.
  • Support System Integration & Test Lab activities, including setting up and performing start-ups and shutdowns according to specific instructions provided via technical documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Cert. III or higher in Electrical, Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of electronic components, RF systems and ESD precautions.
  • Experience working with electronic equipment and servicing, repairing, calibrating and testing electronic circuit boards, devices and subsystems.
  • Ability to perform low-level repairs down to individual components following strict guidelines and industry standards.
  • Knowledgeable with IPC and Defence electronics quality standards.
  • Ability to obtain ITAR and NV-1 security clearances.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Advanced Diploma/Assoc. Degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communication or equivalent desirable.
  • At least 5 years experience in the Electro-technology or Communications Industry.
